Vita

Julia Gundlach leads the project “reframe[Tech]” in the program “Digitalization and the Common Good” at the Bertelsmann Stiftung. She works on the question of how the potentials of algorithmic systems can be better used for the common good. She deals intensively with use cases in which algorithms are used to address social problems, e.g. the allocation of daycare slots, and develops concepts of how AI competences can be built up in the civil society.

She previously worked at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) for the project Forum Digital Technologies. During her Master of Public Policy at the Hertie School in Berlin, she completed a Professional Year in the economic policy division of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy.
