Project Manager - Digitalization and the Common Good
Teresa Staiger
Teresa Staiger is a political scientist and an expert in common-good-oriented artificial intelligence (AI). She analyzes AI developments from a critical societal and international perspective. As a Project Manager in the program “Digitalization and the Common Good” at the Bertelsmann Stiftung, she shaped the project’s strategy on the responsible development and use of generative AI.
Her current work focuses on a study investigating the data foundations of foundation models, exploring how they can be designed to better serve the common good.
Previously, she led the multistakeholder project Tech-Exploration in der Wohlfahrt, a six-week program aimed at identifying meaningful AI application ideas in the welfare sector.
For the past three years, she has also published the German newsletter Erlesenes, a biweekly selection of curated articles, studies, and debates on AI and the common good.
Before that, she worked as a policy officer for the Forum Digitalisierung und Engagement project at the Bundesnetzwerk Bürgerschaftliches Engagement.
