Within the framework of \u201cThe New New\u201d fellowship, 24 thought leaders in twelve projects from across Europe spent six months working on visions of inclusive digital futures. The fellows have provided very concrete opportunities and pathways with a wide range of content, formats and media that empower people in our digital world. <\/em><\/p>\n

AI-based voice services<\/a><\/strong> which, unlike Amazon Alexa, Cortana and Siri, do not reinforce stereotypes<\/a><\/strong>. A digital platform that provides support to victims of domestic violence<\/a><\/strong>. A critical-thinking card game<\/a><\/strong> designed to get players to question the absurdities of technology. A collaborative online portal<\/a> <\/strong>that improves the data on poorly documented medical conditions among underrepresented groups. These are just a few examples of the twelve projects<\/a><\/strong> that were funded for six months as part of \u201cThe New New\u201d <\/em>fellowship.<\/p>\n

Large interest in a place to explore visions for our digital futures<\/strong><\/p>\n

Following intensive preparation, our Ethics of Algorithms<\/a><\/strong> project, together with the non-profit Superrr Lab<\/a><\/strong>, issued a call for applications<\/a><\/strong> for the first \u201cThe New New<\/em>\u201d fellowship at the end of 2020. The fellowship serves as a vehicle to explore potential answers to the following questions:<\/p>\n
